On October 25, 2016 the annual Mayor’s Breakfast was held at the Casablanca Winery Inn with guest speaker Alderman DiFlavio on the topic of “Winston Neighbourhood – Imagine the Opportunities”.
Month: June 2017 (Page 2 of 2)
Well, Council was back in session on Monday night and to say the least it was quite the interesting meeting.
As always, we are happy to provide notes to get you up to speed with what went down at Council.
This advertorial in the recent weekend edition of The Hamilton Spectator certainly caught our eye. Needless to say, it is definitely a subjective view of things but what is surprising is the “selling point” of a GO station in Grimsby in 2020.
Council is once again back in session on Monday June 5th, 2017 and what’s on the agenda (and what is not) could make for a very interesting meeting.
All Council meetings are held at Grimsby Town Hall, 160 Livingston Avenue. Proceedings commence at 7PM and all members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH THE LJM WATERVIEW 15-STOREY DEVELOPMENT?
At the December 13, 2016 Planning and Development Committee public meeting, Winston and Lakelawn residents stated loud and clear that the 15-storey LJM Waterview development is not appropriate and does not belong in their backyards. The committee listened and denied the application for Official Plan and Zoning amendments to increase the height to 15 storeys from 9.
After a short break, Council and Committees will be reconvening starting with Council next Monday (June 5th).
In addition to the Planning & Development meeting on June 13th @ 7PM, there will also be a Committee of Adjustment occurring at the same time/date at Town Hall.
As always, all meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
