The agenda was light again for the March 5th Council meeting. The minutes have not yet been posted to the Town site but we’ve captured a brief summary for you below.
Here are our notes from the February 20th Council meeting. The Town has not posted the official minutes to their website as of yet.
Chills circulated through Council chambers Monday night… good chills that is, thinking of preparations and fundraising for the upcoming Coldest Night of the Year challenge on February 24.
For those who may have been busy with holiday preparation or parties and missed out on the December 18 Council meeting, in the spirit of the season we are (as always) giving you the gift of notes for your reading pleasure.
It is hard to believe December is already upon us, but a new month means a new schedule of meetings for Council and Town committees.
First up this month is Council on Monday (December 4th). While the agenda looks brief, we expect that the money-eating turbines called the CoGen will be front and centre with some hearty discussion as to it’s future (or a lack thereof).
It definitely feels like an election is in the air as some interesting momentum followed the two delegations that presented at Council on November 20. We’ve captured below the local transit discussion as well as the Metrolinx Grimsby GO Public Information Centre held on November 21.
November is just around the corner and so are a slew of Town meetings. With the next municipal election less than a year away, now is better time than ever to drop in to meetings and keep score on your elected officials.

The Council Chambers were packed again as two hot issues were on the agenda – the potential Livingston Avenue Extension through the woodlot and ongoing dumping of fill on Kemp Road properties. And don’t miss the New Business piece at the very end … the Biodigester!

Council is back for another summer session on Monday August 21st, 2017 at 6:30 PM (summer start time). There is a couple interesting delegations on the Agenda including one to speak about the dumping that is occurring on Kemp and another landowner family *supporting* the idea of a Livingston Avenue Extension.
