For those who might not have caught last week’s article and editorial in News Now, there was a focus on the upcoming municipal election debate(s). The Grimsby Chamber of Commerce has tentatively scheduled a Mayoral debate on October 2nd from 7-8PM at the Casablanca Winery Inn. A “meet and greet” with all candidates from the other races, will bookend the night before and after the debate.

Now that the kids are T-1 day from being back in school, life for many will return to “normal”…. and Town Hall is no exception with the September meeting schedule starting to fill up. The first big meeting of the month is Tuesday’s Heritage Committee meeting.
We received a note from a reader early today asking that we check out the “Friendly By Nature” Facebook page because of a post they noticed there. Much to our surprise, we saw a sharing by FBN of an election post from the current Regional Councillor Tony Quirk.
A Better Niagara recently posted a chart detailing how members of Regional Council voted on key issues of integrity in recent years. Their methodology was to evaluate what type of vote represented the best of interest of citizens on that particular issue and from that, tally up.
