Given the recent release of 20 years of Regional Councillor expenses and the disclosure of the costs in the NPCA’s fruitless case against Ed Smith, it seems that those on Regional Council are keeping tight lipped about how they have been spending your tax dollars.
The community has been asking a lot of questions about what is happening with the downtown property at Main Street and Elm, next to “Beyond the Barre” across from the TD Bank.
This property was purchased by DeSantis (in addition to a few other properties abutting it) and fencing and a large sign was recently erected advertising “Coming Soon – Century Condos”.
It appears that the OPP has cleared the NPCA of any “criminal” wrongdoing after investigating allegations of such, but that doesn’t mean the storm has passed for the agency that seems to have little trouble attracting controversy.
