Floreat Grimsby In Medio Horti
The agenda was light again for the March 5th Council meeting. The minutes have not yet been posted to the Town site but we’ve captured a brief summary for you below.
Are you thirsting for change in the Municipal and Regional government in October? Perhaps you might consider a run for a seat and bring effective change to local government.
The good folks at A Better Niagara are hosting a workshop that will give you an overview of the election process and the do’s and dont’s of running a great campaign.
The event will be held on March 21 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Beamsville Legion in Grimsby, located at 5545 King Street in Grimsby.
The Region recently held a meeting discussing possible changes to media policies and the recent seizure of press equipment. In the incident that involved seizure of media equipment, Grimsby Regional Councillor Quirk says the Region is the victim and did nothing wrong.

Well, March is now upon us and we have a slate of new meetings for the month.
The Planning & Development Committee has scheduled a second sitting on March 27th. The much talked about “Century Condos” proposal for downtown will be front and centre for this meeting. As always, these meetings are at Town Hall and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.

February 13 – Planning & Development Committee Meeting – Notes
GO Train Station Secondary Plan
Another great turnout by local residents resulted in a full Council Chamber for the GO Train Station Secondary Plan final report.
One of our good friends and noted naturalist, Bruce McKenzie, shared with us a story and some photos for those who might have seen some new visitors in town.
This weeks Planning & Development Committee will be another very important meeting as the agenda will feature the revised GO Train Station Secondary Plan. If you showed up for the first meeting in December, we encourage you to attend… if you didn’t make the first meeting in December, we definitely encourage you to attend!
