The Town sent out an “email blast” today to inform people that the Open House event for the Grimsby Beach Study for November 4th has been cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances.
When a new date for the open house has been determined, it will be posted here and on the GCFRG Facebook page.
As discussed in a previous post, the Town had scheduled both an Open House meeting and Public Meeting for the Grimsby Beach Study for November 4, 2021.
In response to public concern, the Town has now made the November 4th meeting an Open House only event. The Public Meeting will now be held at a future date, to be determined.
If you have requested a delegation and have comments or concerns over the study, please attend the Zoom “Open House” as scheduled, as it is still an important step in this process. If there is a livestream available, we will rebroadcast it so those who wish to spectate, may day so.
Stay tuned for future updates on the Public Meeting.
With little time to properly digest the wealth of documents dropped on Grimsby residents, especially those in Grimsby Beach, about that area’s Land Use Planning Study, many have been asking for more time to discuss the “draft” documents and their implications.
With a 6PM start time and Zoom-only stream, it might have been difficult for some residents to tune-in to the Town’s webinar on the Grimsby Beach Land Use Study. Fear not, we got it covered with a “remastered” edition.
As the next step in the Grimsby Beach “Land Use Planning Study”, the Town will be hosting a “webinar” on October 26, 2021 at 6PM. Ahead of this webinar, the Town has posted documents including the consultant’s draft report recommending a “Secondary Plan” and not a “Heritage Conservation District”.
Another (second) Monday, another standard meeting of Council. Well… not really. The meeting at first appeared to be a very smooth flight through a decently-sized and almost blue-sky of an agenda. However at one point in the meeting, and to borrow a line from the film “Fight Club”, an announcement of “We’ve just lost cabin pressure” might have been appropriate.
The Facebook global outage on Monday left many without access to our Facebook Live simulcast of Monday’s Council and Committee of the Whole meetings. While we did manage to get on-air in time… in case you missed it, you probably missed one of the most heated meetings to date.
Two lengthy and heavy Integrity Commissioner reports appeared in the agenda for this coming Monday’s Council of the Whole meeting. The complaints and the IC findings shed a great deal of light on the tensions between Members of Council.
