We have posted the list of upcoming Town meetings for August 2018 in our online calendar in the sidebar. Please note there is no Planning & Development Committee for August.

Spring is certainly upon us and with that is a new set of Town meetings for April. You can see the upcoming meetings in our sidebar or click the graphic to be taken to our calendar.
Please note that although April 2 (Easter Monday) is typically a government holiday, Council will be seated on that day as per it’s regular schedule.
Also of special note is the April 10th, 2018 Planning & Development meeting. For those who were unable to get into Town Hall and speak at the Century Condos “Open House” on March 27th, the Town has tentatively scheduled this date to give those people an opportunity to speak (we will post more details once they have been confirmed).
Admin & Finance Agenda – 3:30 pm, December 11
On Monday, the Admin & Finance Committee will discuss the 2016 audited financial statements and a number of reports.
The agenda is viewable at: https://grimsby.civicweb.net/filepro/documents?expanded=542,761,79389&preview=89326
It will be interesting to hear if anyone brings up the missing $9 million (after taxes etc., maybe closer to $6 million left) from the sale of the Town’s shares in Niagara Region Broadband (read our previous post here).
It is hard to believe December is already upon us, but a new month means a new schedule of meetings for Council and Town committees.
First up this month is Council on Monday (December 4th). While the agenda looks brief, we expect that the money-eating turbines called the CoGen will be front and centre with some hearty discussion as to it’s future (or a lack thereof).

While reviewing the Public Works Agenda and Minutes of last week’s meeting, we (not surprisingly) found that the our good ol’ friend the CoGen is once again showing signs of aging. For a project whose turbines were “purchased about 2010 and periodically in service since 2015” and breaking down constantly since, it definitely appears to be on it’s last legs.
Here is our post of upcoming October meetings at Town Hall.
Council reconvenes on Monday and the full agenda can be viewed here: https://grimsby.civicweb.net/filepro/documents?expanded=542,543,79798&preview=86994
It was standing room only at the August 16th Public Works Committee meeting, literally…. the Chambers did not have enough seats, so many stood in the doorway throughout the proceedings. A “tip of the hat” definitely goes to all those residents who attended and show their support for saving the Irish Woodlot.
Well, summertime may be upon us and while many of us be in vacation mode, things may be a little slower at Town Hall as well… but the meetings must go on (albeit on a summer schedule).
This week brings us meetings of many of the Town Committees and they sure look to have an interesting lineup… a little something for everyone it seems.
Town Council will be meeting on Monday, May 15th @ 7PM

Admin & Finance, Planning & Development and Public Works meetings scheduled as per above photo.
All meetings are held at Grimsby Town Hall and public attendance is welcome and encouraged.
