Well, summer may be upon us but that didn’t keep people from packing the gallery at the July 11th Planning & Development Committee. With two “Open Houses” on the Agenda, it was great to see such a large turnout by residents who actively took part in the meetings.

If you have been following the progress of the Grimsby Biodigester Biodisaster project, besides the significant delays, possible future treatment of processed sewage you will probably have noticed that the whole project is cloaked in more secrecy than a “Skunk Works” project at Area 51.
The Admin & Finance Committee was in session on Monday evening and covered a wide array of matters including but not limited to the 2018 Municipal Election, Animal Control and Fire Safety Plans.

Here are some of the photos we took downtown this afternoon of the aftermath of the fire. It was quite an unsettling scene and eerily quiet, given what a regular Friday afternoon in the downtown area would normally be like.
Subsequent to yesterdays’s fire downtown that we wrote about here, the Town held two meetings this morning at Town Hall. The first of these meetings was for downtown residents impacted by the fire and the second meeting for downtown businesses being impacted.

Parts of Downtown Grimsby became engulfed in flames this afternoon after a fire broke out in a building near the corner of Elm and Main Street. Details are still emerging, but it appears that the fire began in the rear of a building on the southwest corner of the intersection.

As the Biodigester seems to be the talk of the Town in as of late, recent articles in Niagara This Week and Niagara News Now are taking aim squarely at the risk-proposition this project has become.
We just wanted to post a quick reminder of the OMB Pre-Hearing on LJM’s Waterview Condominiums Phase II. The Pre-Hearing will commence tomorrow (Wednesday July 5th, 2017) at Grimsby Town Hall (Council Chambers) at 10:00 AM.
