After a well attended Planning & Development Open House meeting on the now cancelled 8 storey proposal for Century Condos downtown, the developer and his team will be back at Town Hall on Tuesday May 29th to present their 4 storey revised proposal.

To put a twist on the old saying, “April showers (and snow), bring May flowers”, let’s hope that is really the case and Mother Nature gets back into the regular swing of things. And with the ushering in of May comes a new month of meetings at Town Hall.
Please check out our calendar for what’s coming up and feel free to drop in as all meetings are open to the public. You can also find the calendar details on the Town website here: http://calendar.grimsby.ca/Search.aspx
The agendas and official minutes of meetings can be found here: https://grimsby.civicweb.net/filepro/documents
Tuesday, March 20 – 7:00 PM @ Town Hall –
Join us for these two important Open Houses:
Height and Density Bonusing Open House
These policies will impact ANY new development OR redevelopment in Grimsby. Height and density bonusing can be permitted ANYWHERE – even in your existing neighbourhood.
Do you think developers should be able to get more height and density above what is written in the Official Plan in exchange for giving the Town a cash payment or “community benefits” such as a sculpture?
We heard the people loud and clear. The question is… did Grimsby Town Council?
The citizens of Grimsby are NOT happy with the proposed Century Condos development downtown. NewsNow reports on the developer-led March 1st Open House here: http://wn3.ca/2018/03/09/raucous-crowd-greets-desantis-proposal/
Do you want to do something about it?
Do you want to send your message of disapproval loud and clear to Council?
November is just around the corner and so are a slew of Town meetings. With the next municipal election less than a year away, now is better time than ever to drop in to meetings and keep score on your elected officials.
Well, hope that everyone had great summer… kids are back in school (most of them) and the meeting schedule at Town Hall is picking up once again. With the days growing shorter, meetings are back to their regular times for the rest of the schedule.
Summer slows things down in terms of meetings at Town Hall, but that doesn’t mean they stop altogether. Above you can find the next scheduled meetings of Council and various Committees.
The Town has now put up a public notice, looking for prospective members for the “rejigged” Heritage Committee Heritage Grimsby Advisory Committee. The new Committee will work under the auspices of the Planning Department and as is implied the name will “advise” on matters.
