The Hamilton Naturalists’ Club (HNC) has won a 2023 “Brownie Award” for its work at the Grimsby Wetlands aka The Biggar Lagoon. Awarded by the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN) under the category of “Reinvest: Financing, Risk Management and Partnerships”, the CBN has recognized the turnaround of these once contaminated sewage treatment lands into an important ecological system within Grimsby and Niagara. This was the first time a “Brownie” award has been given to a volunteer group.

The group redeveloping the Casablanca Winery Inn will be holding a public “open house” event on November 3, 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you simply can not drop in but must register for a slot.
The event will be held in the Lakeside Ballroom of the hotel between 4:30 PM and 6 PM. You can register for one of the 30-minute slots by:

It should come as no surprise to those who drive along the QEW even on an irregular basis or those who follow our posts, that the first phase of LJM’s “Waterview Condominums” has been declared as “delayed”.
We just wanted to post a quick reminder of the OMB Pre-Hearing on LJM’s Waterview Condominiums Phase II. The Pre-Hearing will commence tomorrow (Wednesday July 5th, 2017) at Grimsby Town Hall (Council Chambers) at 10:00 AM.
Following up on our previous “Buyer Beware” post, we noticed the following comments from the father of a very unhappy buyer regarding LJM’s smaller development in Burlington, Appleby Gardens.
On October 25, 2016 the annual Mayor’s Breakfast was held at the Casablanca Winery Inn with guest speaker Alderman DiFlavio on the topic of “Winston Neighbourhood – Imagine the Opportunities”.

Just a quick update to posting sometime back regarding Winston Road closure.
The closure at Oakes Road is extended until May 15, 2017 @ 6PM.
The Town of Grimsby contracted SGL Planning to design the framework in the Winston Neighbourhood and released it as an Urban Design Manual.
