Macleans just released it’s annual list of the top communities in Canada to live and Grimsby ranked #2, being edged out only by Burlington. Heavyweights such as Toronto, Ottawa, Oakville and Mississauga ranked much further down the list.

As noted in our post from yesterday, Council discussed in closed session a “Staff Vacancy”. This author took note of that particular agenda item on Friday when the meeting Agenda was posted and decided to harvest the power of “a popular Internet search engine” to see if it knew the answer… and of course it did.
Queen’s Park has given municipalities the right to “opt-out” of allowing retail cannabis shops to legally open their doors within their borders. With a Council decision required by January 22, 2019, the Town has began a public engagement strategy to weigh public opinion.

If you have not seen the signs yet, Casablanca Boulevard will be closed between Livingston and the South Service Road from November 14-21, 2018 to facilitate CN performing railway crossing work. Through traffic will be re-routed along Livingston and the SSR.

We received word this morning of a last-minute, yet VERY IMPORTANT meeting regarding West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. With the Board of Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) set to soon vote on what they wish to do with WLMH, residents need to be loud and clear we want to keep our hospital.
Niagara This Week just published an interesting article on West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, arising out of discussions that took place at the recent AMO (Association of Municipalities of Ontario) conference in Ottawa. The West Niagara delegation was quite strong in their demands for a WLMH re-built/new hospital.
