Monday’s meeting of Council marks the first “regular business” session for the new Council, but also the last meeting of Council for 2018. As such, the agenda is quite a mixed bag of goodies.

The first meeting of the new Council took place this past Monday, December 3 and although the agenda was light as business is rarely transacted at inaugurations, there is always notes for you.
Well, we would normally have notes from Council but we think NewsNow sums up what happened with the Century Condo project past Monday evening pretty well. We have added in some prefacing commentary as well…
With recent discussion surrounding Town Council and the proposed Century Condos project downtown, there is a common misunderstanding as to what decisions a council can or can not make.
With most of the Committees wrapped up for this term of Council, it’s been a little slower than usual on the news front. But we did have a *very* interesting P&D meeting on Tuesday with the proposed Century Condos downtown being the highlight. And of course we have the notes for your review…
While we originally would have normally called this post “Notes: Council – October 15, 2018”, the night’s events were quite heavy (handed) on the topic of the Town’s hydro companies, their financials and “secret” meetings. As such, we thought it qualified more as part of our “Hydro Files” series.
With the last week of summer upon us, Council is back in session at it’s regular time on Monday night (September 17th @ 7PM). Concerning the agenda, if you enjoy having a garage party after 11PM or dusting it up with a little street fight now and then…. the By-Law updates are for you. For the rest of us, the Biodigester delegation may prove to be the more interesting item.
In what seems to break the silence in updates regarding GO service to Grimsby and the Niagara Region, Metrolinx released a media advisory curiously titled “Metrolinx and Niagara Region continue to work together to bring regular GO train service to the region”.
